If you want to change the world, there’s no such thing as being “too much”.
Welcome to Fictive Kin Equity Lab
We help “too” sensitive, passionate, and intense world-changers learn how to leverage these gifts, so that you can have an even greater impact…
…without giving up your identity, integrity, power, or peace.
How do we do this?
By showing you that there’s zero shame in being exactly who you are.
COACHING
For purpose-driven entrepreneurs and senior leaders who want to increase their impact by being more intensely themselves...
...without fear of judgement, loss of integrity, or failure.
COMMUNITY
For “too sensitive” folks who want to lean into their sensitivity as a social justice superpower...
...without emotional overwhelm, worrying about being a “perfect” activist, or constantly fearing conflict.
CONSULTING
For unconventional companies who want to thrive in unconventional ways…
...without losing their focus, client base, or brand reputation.
Why do we do this?
The answer’s in our name.
FICTIVE KIN
Our Founder is an unapologetic word nerd who occasionally likes to mess around with their meanings.
“Fictive Kin” is a reminder that humans make sense of the world by creating stories, or “fictions”.
Many of our society’s most enduring fictions have been inherited from a (colonial) worldview that is at odds with the goals of equity.
But when we remember that these exclusionary fictions are, you know, fiction, then we can use this knowledge to disrupt their influence and reduce their power.
EQUITY LAB
As far as we’re concerned, if you want to make the world more inclusive, humane, and just, there’s no such thing as knowing too much.
“Equity Lab” describes our approach towards helping clients build their capacity to effect substantive, sustainable, social change.
We deliberately take a learning orientation, with a suite of coaching, community, and consulting services that prioritize critical thinking, personal reflection, and an experimental mindset where asking the right questions is as important as getting the “right” answers.
